  • Oxford Companion to British History  Icon  Icon
    Concise coverage of the history of Britain; no bibliographies.
    Also in print: Carrier Ref DA34 .O93 1997.
  • Reader's Guide to British History  Icon  Icon
    Carrier Ready Ref DA34 .R43 2003.
    Covers all time periods and all constituent parts of the British Isles. Arranged alphabetically by topic, a guide to the best secondary literature on British history, broadly defined. Each topical entry lists secondary works; the entry then discusses each of these important works in relation to one another and in historiographical context.
  • Oxford Dictionary of National Biography
    Biographies of more than 56,000 men and women who shaped all aspects of the British past, from the earliest times. This is the online edition of a 60-volume print set that may be found at Carrier Reference DA28 .O95.
