Using maps to assist in exploring history is not new but the way historians can use maps is changing rapidly with new technologies. New software and applications in geographic information systems (GIS) and mapping are expanding the way that scholars can use maps and geographic information exciting new ways. Here is a brief list of some of projects in this area.
