Submitting Content to Aviary

Who can submit content to Aviary?

JMU users with a valid eID can submit appropriate content to Aviary.

What type of content can be submitted to Aviary?

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Published AV scholarship produced by JMU faculty, students, and staff.
  • Creative works and performances by JMU faculty and staff.

Contact the repository administrators if you have questions regarding the appropriateness of your content.

What types of files are supported?

Aviary generally supports a wide variety of media file types including MP3, WAV, MOV, PNG, GLB and more. Contact the repository administrators if you have questions about the file type you would like to upload to Aviary.

How is content submitted to Aviary?

JMU users should fill out the JMU Libraries: Aviary Contributor Form. The short form gathers basic descriptive information about the content and includes an upload link to attach your file(s). In order to ensure discoverability, please include as much accurate information as you are able when completing the form.

If you have a large file (greater than 100MB) or large number of resources (5+) to add to the Aviary repository, please contact the repository administrators.
