Study Rooms

Group Study

  • 2nd & 4th floors = reservation only
  • 3rd floor = first come/first serve

Individual

  • first come/first serve zen booths (4 on 3rd floor across from elevators, 4 on 4th floor across from bathrooms)
  • we DO NOT have any private single user spaces, this is a public building
    • A private room is available at HBS for students who have a need to complete a telehealth visit with an outside provider. To reserve the space, call 540-568-6178 and ask for an appointment for telehealth space.

Alternative Study Spaces

  • encourage users to explore options at The Union, Memorial Hall, Wilson, SSC, HBS, etc. 
Wireless Printing

Students MUST download JMU's wireless printing software which can be found here or via a Google search for "JMU wireless printing"

  • for troubleshooting refer them on to the IT Help Desk at 540-568-3555 or ext. 8-3555
  • pro tip: it's easier just to tell people to get on a desktop computer and print from there
  • students may have to re-download every year/semester?
Printing Costs

Black & White prints = $0.05 each or $0.08 double-sided

Color prints = $0.40 each or $0.78 double-sided 

SPSS Help There's NO ONE at JMU trained to help with SPSS so refer users to IBM Support at 800-426-4968 and/or to this guide here for additional help

Visitor Use

Guest Wi-Fi

  • users must ask at the front desk of each library and show a valid ID

Guest Printing

  • Users must purchase a dart card for $0.75 and then load additional money on it to print (machines are cash only and are located in both libraries)
Collection Bins

The LIS Department has newly taken on the scheduling of any donation/collection bin requests for the libraries, so users with any bin related questions should be referred to the Ask the Library help ticket form found on the libraries webpage; there is a 2 week processing period for requests!

  • Users can also be referred to scan the QR codes in either of the libraries' vestibules to be taken directly to the form itself! 
Flyers/Posters

Table top flyers are NOT permitted in the library due to our no soliciting policy; insistent users should be encouraged to submit a help ticket via the Ask the Library email form
