Search for OER @ JMU

Find open educational resources (OER) and open access (OA) materials in JMU Libraries catalog using the following search tips. 

 

For general OER and OA searches:

Click on "Advanced Search."

Type "open educational resources" into the first search box and add specific disciplinary keywords as desired.

See examples below for more precise searches if you know the Series or Author:

  • Title (Using "Advanced Search," select "Title" from the "Any field" and change the "contains" field to "is (exact)" in dropdown menu): Open Textbook Library

  • Author (Using "Advanced Search," select "Author" from the "Any field" and change the "contains" field to "is (exact)" in dropdown menu): OpenStax

For JMU dissertations:

Type "dissertant" into the search box.

Under the "Tweak your results" heading on the left side of the results screen, expand the Availability section and select "Open Access."

To search using topic keywords, use the "Advanced Search" feature to enter additional terms and phrases.

For Early English Books Online (EEBO):

Click on "Advanced Search."

Change the "Any field" dropdown to "Title," change the "contains" dropdown to "is (exact)," and then type "early english books online" in the search box.
