Using Cite It!
The Cite it! button allows you to cite web sites, articles & books found on the web. To add Cite It! to your web browser:
- Click on the User Menu (which should look like a circle with your initials in it) located on the upper left-hand corner of your reading list
- Choose Cite It! from the menu

- Follow the prompt* on the screen to add Cite It!
*The window that opens will demonstrate how to drag and drop the Cite It! button to your browser's bookmark bar.

- You can use Cite It! anytime you come across an item you wish to add to your reading list while browsing the web. Once you've located a source, click on the Cite It! button in your browser
- Fill out the relevant citation information and choose which reading list to add the item to

- Select ADD & CLOSE to submit your citation and close the Cite It! window
Note: When using Cite It! it is helpful to be signed into Canvas and have your reading list open in another tab. This way you won't be prompted to sign-in to use Cite It! and you can verify the item was added successfully.
