On display in Carrier Library, October 2019 and in Rose Library, December 2019 through February 2020.
LGBTQ+ History month was first recognized in 1994, and is celebrated every October. It is a celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer histories, historical figures, and civil rights movements. The books on display here tell stories of LGBTQ+ movements, people, liberations, pain, creativity, and strength. LGBTQ+ History Month provides role models, builds community, and represents a civil rights statement about the contributions of the LGBT community. It is celebrated every October to coincide with Coming Out Day, which is on October 11th.
