On display in Carrier Library, September 2018. Selected by Howard Carrier and Kristen Shuyler
People seeking to immigrate to the U.S., whether to seek new opportunities, join family, or escape chaos and war, deal with issues such as legal processes, daily survival on their journeys, and deep questions about home, identity, and citizenship. These recent books were selected to shed light on topics related to U.S. immigration, with special attention paid to books that feature the voices and perspectives of migrants. The display, in the Carrier Library main lobby, includes academic books on these topics, as well as novels and poetry.
This book list is not meant to be a comprehensive bibliography on the topic of the display. It's a snapshot of selected books/videos in our collection on this topic as of September 2018.
