Book Displays

On display in Rose Library, October 2024. Selected by SOGIE and JMU Office of Disability Services.

October is LGBTQ+ History Month and Health Literacy Month! Health literacy is the ability of individuals to find, understand, and use information to make health-related decisions for themselves and others. There are numerous health literacies, including sexual, mental, and personal.

Celebrate the month by perusing a variety of books and videos centering sexual health, mental health, general health and wellbeing, and LGBTQIA+ rights. Browse all display items, view some online, and feel free to check them out for further exploration!

This library resource display was created in partnership with Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression (SOGIE) and the Office of Disability Services (ODS). SOGIE offers many more resources as well, including an LGBTQ+ Inclusion Guide for Faculty and Staff, the Lavender Lounge with a resource library, a Trans @ JMU Guide, and more.
